A group named Buhari AbdulFatai Tactical Committee has countered the trending news report of Oyo North Senator’s likely defection to the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State ahead of primary elections of political parties.
Some online media earlier on Tuesday reported that Governor Seyi Makinde’s men are working on bringing the two-term senator into PDP.
BAF Tactical Committee, however, countered the report in a message released by its Director-General Barr. Lawal.
The counter message reads:
Dismiss any rumour of planned defection of the most productive and quintessential Senator in Oyo State, Sen Buhari AbdulFatai. PDP has no better ticket to offer him. The only reason why Buhari may consider PDP is if it offered him her gubernatorial ticket. Anything lesser than that, Sen Buhari rejects it. Our principal is a party man to the core and will abide by party decision provided the party is just , fair and transparent and allows the rules of internal democracy to prevail. As far as we followers of Sen Abdulfatai Buhari is concerned, he is ready for primaries whether direct or indirect anytime, any day. Bar Lawal, DG Buhari AbdulFatai Tactical Committee.
