Senator Buhari Abdulfatai of Oyo North Senatorial District, on Wednesday, took time out from the Nigerian Senate Plenary to take part in an oversight function of Nigerian House of Representatives

Until today, the last time Senator Buhari took part in the House of Representatives activity was in the year 2007 when he was Honorable Member representing Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

However, the Senator was in the House today to speak strongly in favor of the bill seeking to establish Federal Medical Centre at Igboho,Oyo State at the Bill public hearing. The bill is sponsored by Honorable Olumide Ojerinde representing Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency.

While speaking at the public hearing,Senator Buhari noted that the establishment of a good healthcare facility in Oke Ogun is long overdue as the pain and rigor of Oke Ogun people who always travel miles away either to Ibadan or Ilorin for medical attention is highly pathetic and pitiable. He added further that Oke Ogun people is one of the most marginalised people in the country as the region does not have a single federal presence and therefore calls on the House of Representatives to pass the bill without delay.

After assuring the gathering that he will work assiduously by interacting with the Senate leadership in order to make the bill enjoy the Senate concurrence once passed by the House,he salutes the effort and courage of the sponsor of the Bill that pushing an important bill of this nature this far in the Nigerian Parliament despite being a first time lawmaker is actually a laudable and commendable effort.
