The ancient town of Saki was thrown into pandemonium on Thursday as Sooko Boys allegedly associated with Governor Seyi Makinde and Dr. Lukman Adisa alias Adamawa of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) invaded Adeleke Filing Station, Asunnara in Saki.
The News Carrier NG reports that the governor is currently in Saki to commission a road project and to celebrate his 54th birthday anniversary.
Eyewitnesses told Oke-Ogun correspondent of the News Carrier NG that Sooko Boys stormed Adeleke Filing Station at Asunnara in Sakiro get petrol without paying, a move that was resisted by attendants on duty.
According to amateur videos obtained by the News Carrier NG, ringleaders of Sooko Boys, which included Tunde Nokia, Sawama, Eja Kehinde Sooko and Taye Iku Monday were seeing threatening petrol attendants with dangerous weapons while residents ran for their dear lives.
Some residents including petrol attendants were reportedly injured as the Sooko Boys robbed Adeleke Filing Station of an undisclosed substantial amount of money.
One of the victims (names withheld for security reason) condemned the daylight robbery of Sooko Boys.
In his words, “As you can see, I’m groaning in severe pains. The official visit of Mr. Governor to Saki is expected to be a blessing, not a curse and bitter experience to us. Imagine, the Sooko Boys insisted they must get fuel for free or else hell would let lose. They fulfilled their promises by causing mayhem here in Saki”.
The victim demanded governor Seyi Makinde and the law enforcement agencies to investigate the invasion with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book
The Sooko Boys were wearing Makinde/Adamawa branded vests. According to the eyewitnesses, they were shouting Seyi Makinde for second time and Adamawa for rep.
Dr. Lukman Adamawa is Governor Makinde’s Laison officer for Saki Eest, Saki East and Atisbo. He is 2023 house of reps aspirant on the platform of PDP.
The attack has also resulted in heavy gridlock as vehicles queued up without movement.
Governor Makinde arrived Saki on Thursday afternoon and will be in the ancient town till December 27, 2021, according to inside sources
