Former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala led Elders Advisory Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has announced Zoning, Planning and Strategic Committee for the October 16 2021 State Congress of the party.
The move, according to competent sources within the party, is to ensure a rancour-free and all-inclusive state congress.
“Oyo State APC had peaceful, rancour-free, all-inclusive and successful ward and local congresses. The Elders Advisory Council constituted the Committee in order to ensure that all interests are carried along and accommodated in the forthcoming state congress. We’re going to the October 16 state congress as a united house” a former senator said.
Hon. (Prince) Musiliu Olaide Akinremi and eight others have been appointed by the party’s Elders Advisory Council.
Hon. Akinremi is a member of Federal House of Representatives, representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency and also a member of Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of APC.
Engr. Idris Adeoye, a member of the Advisory Council, is to serve as Secretary of the Committee.
Other members include Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Chairman, National Lottery Commission and former Personal Assistant to former governor Lamidi Adesina; former secretary to Oyo State Government during Ajimobi’s regime, Alhaji Lekan Alli; Executive Secretary of Universal Basic Education, Dr. Isiaka Kolawole; for executive chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government, Hon. Wale Adeleke; Hon. Akeem Olatunji, Alhaji Hamed Ayinla and Mrs. Monisola Tegbe.
Inside sources revealed that the Zoning, Planning and Strategic Committee is expected to hold its inaugural meeting on Thursday, 7th October 2021 at the new State Party Secretariat, situated at Oke-Ado Ibadan.
