Oyo State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been taken over by dozens of armed policemen in various patrol vans.
Upon their arrival at around 9:30pm on Thursday, the security operatives positioned themselves at the entrance of the Secretariat and some strategic points in Oke Ado Area of Ibadan.
According to sources, the policemen stormed the building following a hint that some aggrieved members of the party in collaboration with the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State were planning to set the edifice on fire.
As of the time of filing this report, the Oyo APC leadership was yet to make an official statement regarding the development.
The News Carrier NG reports that majority of APC delegates across the 33 LGAs of the state are billed to converge on Oke Ado Secretariat of the party on Friday morning for a coordinated trip to Abuja for March 26 national convention.
