Former senate leader and 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state, Senator Teslim Folarin mourns the death of former Minister of Labour, Prince Ajibola Afonja.
The former Chairman of the Board of Directors of First Bank plc died on Sunday at the age of 82.
Senator Folarin’s condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Com. YSO Olaniyi reads:
I extend my solemn condolences to the immediate family of Prince Ajibola Afonja and the Oyo Kingdom over the passage of the first son of the ancient town to serve as a federal minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The death of Prince Ajibola was a tragic loss to Oyo town and Oyo State at large. He was a gentleman, focused and great philanthropist.
Baba was my political advisor and supporter. He will be sorely missed by all.
He has run his race and gone to his Maker. We take solace in the fact that he was an accomplished man and dedicated his life in serving humanity.
May Almighty God Forgive his shortcomings and Grant him Al-Janatul Firdaus.
