2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and lawmaker representing Oyo Central senatorial district, Senator Teslim Folarin has described the death of a party chieftain in Ibarapa East Local Government Area, Chief Silas Okunlola Lasunsi as a great loss to the party in the State.
The three-term senator in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Com. YSO Olaniyi said the late APC Chieftain was a committed and dedicated progressive leader in Ibarapa Zone.
The Statement reads: ”The news of the death of our father and leader in Ibarapa Zone, Chief Silas Okunlola Lasunsi came as a rude shock. He was one of the committed leaders of our party who has contributed immensely to the successes of APC in Ibarapa Zone and Oyo State”
“Baba Lasunsi’s departure is painful. He was a core party man whose penchant for peace and unity was always very admirable. Undoubtedly, we have lost one of our great great leaders in the zone. He will be sorely missed”.
“Baba left at a time when his political acumen and experience are needed, particularly as the electioneering activities commence”.
“I sympathize with the immediate family of the deceased and the APC family. Only God can comfort us and give them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss”
“May God Forgive Baba of his shortcomings and Grant him eternal rest” the statement concluded.
