The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken an early lead in the ongoing results from the bye election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency held on August 16, 2025, as the exercise was reportedly overshadowed by low voter turnout and allegations of irregularities in some areas.
Unofficial results trickling in from voters and observers across various polling units indicate that the APC is significantly ahead of its closest rival, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as well as other political parties participating in the exercise.
Reports indicate that the APC candidate, Wale Olatunji ‘Murphy’, is enjoying a wide margin, while the PDP candidate, Folajimi Oyekunle ‘DoN’, maintains close ties. Other opposition parties’ leaders are said to be trailing far behind, according to figures already shared on social media platforms by voters at the polling units.
While these results are not yet officially announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), excitement is already building in APC circles as the party looks set to retain control of the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat.
INEC is expected to announce the official results once collation is concluded.
