Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (Solan) has praised the Nigerian Tribune for its commitment to excellent journalism, describing the platform as a veritable source of strong, credible and reliable reportage.

Lanlehin, in a release by his Media Assistant, Dr Damola Adeoye, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, felicitated the Board, Management and Staff of the African Newspapers of Nigeria PLC, publishers of the Tribune titles, on the occasion of the paper’s 75th anniversary, noting that its ability to navigate Nigeria’s rapidly changing socioeconomic landscape, is testament to the resilience of the organisation, and the ingenuity of its handlers.

“I’m very delighted with the positive transformation that the Tribune has been undergoing, placing it in its pride of place as the nation’s most informative newspaper.

“Surviving different sociopolitical cum economic challenges in the last 75 years is enough advert for the Tribune’s top dog status. One can only pray that the Almighty continues to imbue the paper’s handlers with the needed wisdom to continue pushing the frontiers of journalism excellence,” Lanlehin said.

Lanlehin, a legal luminary who represented Oyo South Senatorial District between 2011 and 2015, commended the Awolowo Family, especially Amb. (Dr) Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu, for keeping the Tribune up and running in line with the vision of the founder, the sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, maintaining that no better monument honours Papa’s lasting legacy than the frontline status the Nigerian Tribune, the nation’s most informative newspaper, has consistently maintained in the last 75 years.
