As controversy continues to trail the recent adoption of Hon. Bisi Oluranti as the People’s Democratic Party’s candidate for Ogbomoso North State Constituency, one of the 13 aspirants jostling for the ticket has finally dumped the party.

Hon. (Dr.) Ajagbe Paul Olukunle, a renowned philanthropist and the Convener Onirese House on Thursday, officially defected to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) alongside his supporters across the 10 wards.

Ajagbe, in a statement personally signed by him and made available to Mouthpiece NGR, said PDP lacks internal democracy, which plays a vital role in harmonization of party’s members.

According to him, where there is no internal democracy, injustice, unfairness, and inequality will abound, which is capable of causing rancour, disharmony and disarray within the party faithfuls.

He said the emergence of party candidates is marred by unnecessary imposition which is not hygienic in an ideal democratic setting.

“My ambition is not about “do or die” but in a situation whereby there is no fairness, equity, and justice within the party it’s not worthy staying back and hence there would be needs to move forward.”

Ajagbe urged his teeming supporters to remain calm, resolute, resilient and stand firmly on the sole aim of liberating citizens of Ogbomoso North Local Government from pinnacle of poor representation by voting him in for proper accountability, transparency, effective and efficient lawmaking system that would liberate Ogbomoso North and Oyo state as a whole from socioeconomic moribund.

He thank his teeming supporters for their supports and for believing in his leadership ability as he prayed that 2023 shall be year of landmark victory for the party at all levels.
