A meeting of stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State on Thursday summoned by the State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Chief Akin Oke ended in deadlock.

The News Carrier NG reports that the meeting was called to resolve on consensus candidate for the position of state chairmanship of the party

The News Carrier NG reliably gathered that the meeting failed to agree as all the leaders in attendance toed different paths ahead of the Saturday, October 30th State congress.

As a way out of the logjam, former Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan moved a motion that Oke-Ogun Zone 1 APC leaders should be given time till tomorrow (Friday) to decide who to be Oke’s replacement among Hon.Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu (Itesiwaju LGA), Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi (Kajola LGA),  Engr. Yekeen Abolade (Iseyin LGA) and Hon. Dele Akinleye (Itesiwaju LGA).

A former deputy governor who pleaded anonymity said, “I can confirm to you that the meeting ended in fiasco after Mrs. Ogunesan moved the motion that APC leaders in Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency should be allowed to produce consensus candidate. If the leaders fail to produce a consensus, delegates will vote to elect next state executives of the party”.
