The Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has told the warring camps in Oyo State chapter of the party that there would not be fresh state congress.
The position of APC CECPC was communicated to the party stakeholders in Abuja on Thursday through the National Caretaker Secretary, Senator John Akpanudoedehe.
According to our sources, “APC CECPC affirmed former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala’s leadership of the party alongside the two former deputy governors Iyiola Oladokun and Moses Alake”.
Senator John Akpanudoedehe who presided over the Thursday meeting at the instance of the national Caretaker chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni, said the CECPC had approved the results of ward and local congresses in all the states including the Federal Capital Territory.
On the state congress held on October 30th, 2021, the APC CECPC directed all stakeholders to meet with former governor Alao-Akala with a view to agreeing on harmonised state executives of the party.
Immediate past Secretary of Oyo State APC and newly-elected Senatorial Chairman of APC (Oyo South), Hon. Mojeed Olaoya has been mandated to be part of the harmonisation meeting.
