In a bid to making the electoral victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming general elections achieveable, the Itesiwaju Oyo Youths Group, met on Tuesday 13th September, 2022 at the Akala Opadoyin Lodge, Randa Area in Ogbomoso, to fashion out best ways to making this set objective realistic.
The group, aside endorsing Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin as the next Governor of Oyo State , also pledged their preparedness and dedication to support and mobilise the electorates to vote, Senator AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari and all other standard flag bearers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Earlier, a minute silence was observed in the hall and outside the grave house in honour of the late former governor of Oyo State and leader of the party, His Excellency, Otunba Dr Christopher Adebayo Alao, who passed on to the world beyond few months ago.
It was a moment of sober reflection for the great hero who came , saw and conquered. Prayers were said for God to rest his soul peacefully, comfort the families he left behind and continue to uphold the Akala political dynasty.
The State Coordinator of the group, Asiwaju Adekola Bolarinwa Adeoye, after appreciating the members for the massive turn out despite the short notice, admonished the gathering on the need to sweep away the bad and cosmetic governance of the present People’s Democratic Party PDP in the state under the leadership of Engineer Seyi Makinde.
” The singular reason for the formation of this group across all the local government areas of the state is to ensure we work in synergy and in unity to ensure the present deceitful governance by Engineer Seyi Makinde and his inexperienced and selfish representatives at various levels end in Oyo State by 2023.
” The local government administration under PDP in Oyo State has never been this worse since the inception of democracy in Nigeria. The allocations of these local governments since 2019 have run into billions of naira with absolutely nothing to show for it. Unlike before, no local government in Oyo State has been able to construct a kilometer road since 2019. Local government chairmen under Governor Seyi Makinde cannot employ new staff. All tertiary institutions in the state are in comatose while the government kept borrowing to pay salaries. Over inflation of contract sums and unprofessional execution of contract jobs with excessive borrowings are now the other of the day in the Oyo State. All these and other bad governance in Oyo State by Governor Seyi Makinde must end in 2023 for the experienced third (3rd) Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin to take over the mantle of leadership for a more prosperous Oyo State of hope from 2023 and beyond”, Asiwaju Adekola posited.
Dr Babalola James Obaz, the Organizing Secretary of the group, implored the members to work assiduously to make sure all APC candidates, from the president to the state houses of assembly, become victorious in 2023.
The Women Leader of the group, Mrs Adebimpe Adedoyin, after chanting different melodious songs to spice up the occasion, assured women of an all-inclusive governance and good reward system by Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarinin 2023 and beyond.
” They will call you different bad names for being a politician as a woman but we must not be distracted. This PDP government of deceit must end in 2023. Governor Seyi Makinde deceived so many youths by taking them to Nassarawa State for training in the agricultural sector. After risking their lives to the programme, the governor lied to the public that they have been given a heavy take up capital which is a pure lie. Any government that toils with the lives of the youths and women must not be trusted. Governor Seyi Makinde cannot be trusted. Women and all members, the reward for our hard work will be heavily compensated. All we need to do is to mobilise supports and vote for all APC candidates and ensure we win in 2023″ Adebimpe submitted.
The zonal coordinator for the five (5) local areas of Ogbomoso, Mr Adeola Adeleye, appreciated the state executives, local government coordinators for their dedication and selflessness.
He appreciated Honourable Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala for hosting the meeting as well as the moral and financial supports towards making the gathering a success.
Satisfactory and reassuring answers were given to all various bothering questions that were being asked by the selected members from each of the five (5) local government areas and other well wishers.
Dior, as the zonal coordinator is being fondly called by his supporters also appreciated other groups and all other members for the large turn out. He reassured the group that the group will work with all relevant stakeholders within the zone to ensure that all APC candidates become victorious in 2023.
Itesiwaju Oyo Youths Group is the umbrella body for over two hundred (200) different groups with the soul objective of ensuring the electoral victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin in 2023 through consultations, facilitation of constructive engagements with other groups like the media, civil societies, election management and bodies through Peer-to-Peer, Door-to- Door and One on One campaigns.
