Former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin has expressed profound grief over the passing of an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and Director-General of his 2023 Oyo State Governorship Campaign Council, Prof. Isiaka Kolawole.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Com. YSO Olaniyi, Folarin described the late Professor Kolawole as a good brother, trusted political ally and core progressive who distinguished himself through an untainted record of public service in different capacities.
In a condolence message, the three-term senator said the deceased was one of the most straightforward, principled and disciplined politicians he had ever worked with, noting that his commitment to progressive ideals, integrity and responsible leadership earned him the respect of colleagues and associates.
“Prof. Isiaka Kolawole was much more than a political associate to me. He was a good brother, dependable ally and committed progressive who served with honour and an untainted record wherever he was called upon to serve.
“He was one of the most straightforward and disciplined politicians I have ever worked with. As Director-General of my 2023 Governorship Campaign Council, he demonstrated remarkable leadership, maturity, loyalty and sound judgement. His wise counsel was invaluable, and his leadership skills and depth of experience will be sorely missed.
“His passing is a painful loss not only to his immediate family and associates but also to the progressive family and the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State. We have lost a principled leader whose contributions to our party and public service will not be forgotten.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family, friends, political associates and the entire Oyo State APC family. I pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, accepts his good deeds and grants him Al-Jannah Firdaus. May Allah also grant everyone affected by this painful loss the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
