Former First Lady of Oyo State, Chief (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi has declared that she is neither interested in holding political position nor ready to play politics, but rather focusing in upholding the legacies of her husband, one of which was the to follow up on the peace process that he embarked upon before his demise.
Mrs. Ajimobi made the disclosure while hosting some stakeholders of the party during the weekend.
The stakeholders in attendance on Saturday included Senator Teslim Folarin (Oyo Central), Senator Abdulfatai Buhari (Oyo North), Hon Akeem Adeyemi (Skimeh), Hon Olaide Akinremi, Hon Tolu Akande- Shadipe, Hon Olumide Ojerinde, Hon Akin Alabi, Hon Olatunbosun Olajide and Hon Shina Peller. The national assembly caucus was joined by the State Caretaker Chairman of APC, Chief Akin Oke.
Earlier on Saturday morning, she had played host to some members of the Ajimobi Legacy Forum (ALF). Present were all the governorship aspirants and the party gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 election: Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, Dr Olusola Ayandele (Eruobodo), Mr Joseph Tegbe, Dr Azeez Adeduntan, Ayo Kareem and Prof Soji Adejumo.
Others at the event were former Commissioner for Justice and a member of the legal team, Mr Seun Abimbola, SAN, former Head of Service, Mrs Hannah Ogunesan, former Commissioner for Lands, Mr Isaac Omodewu, former Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr Bolaji Tunji, former Executive Secretary, Oyo State Security Trust Fund, Mr Femi Oyedipe, the State APC Woman Leader, Mrs Mabel Williams, Sir Wale Murphy, Mr Olugbenga Olayemi, among others.
Sunday was the turn of ALGON team, which included all the former chairmen LGAs and LCDAs.
While speaking, the former First Lady said: “One of the things on his mind was to ensure that peace reigned in Oyo APC. He wanted all the different factions to come together.
“I am not interested in politics, I am not aspiring for any political position. As a politician’s wife, I can only support as I have always done when my husband was alive and I will continue to offer that support. “
