The Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated State Congress Committees that will conduct elections for new state officers of the party.
Senator John James Akpanudoedehe who is National Secretary of APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) performed the ceremony on Wednesday in Abuja.
Senator James highlighted the Membership Registration, ward/LG congresses and the upcoming State Congresses as part of Governor Mai Mala-Buni’s monumental land marks.
He noted that the full composition of the committees will be handed over to the committee chairmen on Thursday.
Senator James urged that every bickering be nipped in the bud.
Part of the speech reads:
“We expected that every bickering be nipped in the bud, so we circle the wagons and approach 2023 elections as a unit, notwithstanding the family misunderstandings that may exist. Mr. President as our father had encouraged the setting up of the National Reconciliation Committee in order to further provide avenue and channels for persons to ventilate their grievances and essentially achieve unity”.
“As Chairmen and Secretaries of the States Congresses Committees you are expected to conduct yourself in a manner that engenders confidence in the process”.
“You all were carefully selected based on your proven records. The party trusts in your strength of character. Integrity and capacity to be fair in your dealings to all shades of interests as you carry out your duties”
“The party’s guidelines for the exercise and the constitution of our party shall be your guide”.
