2019 Ibadan North state assembly candidate of the Action Democratic Party now a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo state, Hon. Khalil MUSTAPHA popularly known as REPETE has declared his bid to represent Ibadan North Federal constituency at the National Assembly in the next dispensation.
Khalil MUSTAPHA (REPETE) a grassroot politician gave this Indication in a chat with News Agency of Nigeria while fielding questions on his assessment on the state of the Nation and the political situation in Oyo state in anticipation of the next general election.
He said his decision to throw his hat in the ring and vie for the Ibadan North Federal constituency seat is borne out of the fact that the All Progressives Congress as a party is positioned to weed the failed People’s Democratic Party out of Oyo state.
He said the A.P.C is a party that has the best hands who are well grounded politically to fill the elective political positions which mistakenly slipped into the hands of the under performing P.D.P legislators.
He declared that the current legislator representing Ibadan North Federal constituency Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi will be fielded to contest for the Oyo south senatorial district election which he will win convincingly to save the people of the district from the current grandstanding of the under performing P.D.P senator who has nothing to show in terms of performance since he was sworn-in as Senator.
Hon. REPETE said with his wealth of experience over the years in politics and having studied the political terrain he is well positioned to take over from Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi Jagaban.
He declared that with Jagaban at the Senate and himself at the House of Reps, a greater deal of collaborative effort along with other A.P.C colleagues will entrench a better society for the people of Oyo south senatorial district and most especially the people of Ibadan North Federal constituency of Oyo state.
The A.P.C chieftain who also called on Nigerians to be resolute and steadfast in their support for the growth and development of Nigeria said the strong willed nature of Nigerians became more evident in the out gone year 2021 which had in it’s trail a lot of Up’s and Down’s but the uncompromising and determined spirits of the good people of Nigeria saw us through till this new year.
He expressed optimism that year 2022 is starting on an encouraging note and that the people of this great country should not loose hope but be forward thinking and look for the good of the land.
Hon. MUSTAPHA REPETE congratulated President Mohammadu Buhari for his doggedness and determination to better and Improve the lot of Nigerians not minding the harsh economic condition world over occasioned the deadly coronavirus pandemics and of recent, Omicron.
Hon. Khalil Mustapha son of the late foremost Islamic scholar and former chairman, Oyo state muslim pilgrims welfare Board, Sheik Temitope Mustapha also used the occasion of the new year to appeal to the Oyo state Government under Engr. Seyi Makinde to pay detailed attention to the deepening level of insecurity in the state.
He decried the rate at which the people of Oyo state have been living in incessant fear of armed robbery attacks, rival street gang attack, car Jacking, and of recent during the festive season, an increase in the number of robbery attacks being perpetrated with Okada around major streets in Oyo state.
“It is quite worrisome that the security of our dear Oyo state is at its lowest ebb.
People of Oyo state are loosing their source of income to hoodlums and armed robbers who have overtaken the better part of the state.
Engr. Seyi Makinde needs to wake up to his responsibility as the Chief Security officer of the state.
He needs to have a first hand situation assessment of happenings in the state.
He should take a drive through Agodi gate down to Secretariat, Awolowo junction to Housing roundabout up to Sango poly junction between 7pm and 12 midnight and see the reckless abandon with which the street urchins and night marauders operate without check.
Hon. Khalil Mustapha while thanking the leadership of the All Progressives Congress at both the National and state levels for the successes recorded so far in constituting the party structure and executives that will steer the ship of the party for the next years called for a moment of sober reflection as we draw closer to the next general elections.
He said the intra party elections should not be seen as a winner takes it all affair but should be an avenue to bring everybody together.
We should use this new year to reflect in our mistakes in the outgone year and make amends and end ensure we consolidate on the gains of the mis-governance of the P.D.P led Government in Oyo state.
