The zonal leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have passed a vote of confidence on the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Isaac Omodewu, vowing to ensure reconciliation and proper integration of all members ahead of the party’s primaries and 2023.
This is contained in a communique signed by party zonal leaders present at the end of a special meeting held with the State Chairman of Oyo APC, Hon. Isaac Omodewu, on Tuesday at Oke-Ado State Secretariat of the party.
According to the communique made available to journalists on Wednesday, all the zonal leaders were solidly behind the leadership of Hon. Omodewu as State Chairman of Oyo APC.
Motion for vote of confidence was moved by party’s zonal leader for Ibarapa geopolitical zone, Chief Timothy Jolaosho and seconded by overall APC leader in Oke-Ogun geopolitical zone, Chief S.A Adekola. In attendance at the APC zonal leaders’ special meeting included Pa Adebayo Ajibade, Chief Sunday Elegbede, Chief Hazzan Adeniran, Hon. Francis Babalola, Engr. Dayo Lawal, Alhaji Mufutau Adisa Gbayawu, Alhaji Kamorudeen, Alhaji Ismail Yakubu Adebayo and Hon. R.O Ojegoke.
The communique read in parts:
“Our vote of confidence of Hon. Isaac Omodewu as State Chairman of Oyo APC is to encourage and support him to move the party forward”
“The APC leaders resolved to continue state-wide reconciliation, harmonisation and integration of both the old and the new party members across the 351 wards of 33 LGAs of Oyo State”
“It is normal for family members to disagree on issues. The internal wrangling in Oyo APC is not irreconcilable. Therefore, as zonal leaders, we shall ensure genuine reconciliation of all party members with a view to having a united and vibrant party to dislodge the misruling government of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State in 2023 general elections”.
“The zonal leaders also resolved to meet with all aspirants jostling for 2023 party’s tickets before the commencement of primary elections”.
