“Alao-Akala’s Contributions to Democratic Governance, Development of Oyo State is Visible to All” – Senator SOJ

Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi has congratulated former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala on his 71st Birthday Anniversary, describing him as one of the few political leaders in the state that had the full knowledge of the public service.


Senator SOJ, in a goodwill message, noted that despite Otunba Alao-Akala’s humble background, he rose to the political limelight that every single individual clamour for in life.

‘’Former governor Alao-Akala attained a good feat during his active service years at the Nigeria Police Force, right from when he was enlisted as Cadet Inspector of Police in June 1974 at the Nigeria Police College, Ikeja up to the period he retired in 1995 as Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Logistics and Supply at the Oyo State Police Command, Eleyele, Ibadan.

‘’His heart of gold for genuine development at grassroots paved way for him to emerge as the Chairman, Ogbomoso North Local Government in 1998 under the platform of APP and served as the Vice-Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON).

‘’With unprecedented performance he recorded as the chairman, his name became household name in Ogbomoso from that period up till now. ‘Omo Iya Alaro’ has fondly called by admirers has raised the bar of governance.

‘’His contribution to democratic governance and development of Oyo State is visible to all and sundry in the state and beyond.

“As Okanlomo of Ibadanland, I wish chief, Dr. Adebayo Alao-Akala many more years in sound heart”.
