Following the move by Oyo State Government to rename Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), the University Alumni Association has convened an emergency meeting of critical stakeholders.
The Oyo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Oyelowo Oyewo SAN while briefing journalists on Tuesday after the state executive council meeting at the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, disclosed that the state government would forward a bill tagged “Ladoke Akintola University LAU” amendment bill to the Oyo State House of Assembly.
According to him, the bid is to make the renowned institution become a conventional university. Oyelowo added that this was done to accommodate courses like Law, Humanities among others.
Meanwhile, the Global President of LAUTECH Alumni Association, Hon. Onilede Solomon Limo has announced an emergency meeting of critical stakeholders to include past presidents, board of Trustees, past and press chapter executives, past and present student union executives, past and present faculty and departmental executives, opinion leaders and other distinguished alumni.
Hon. Onilede stated the emergency meeting will be held via zoom. He said that the Global Secretary, Prof. Azeem Ige would announce Meeting ID and Passcode.
