Concerned Members of Staff of The Polytechnic, Ibadan have declared that the newly appointed acting rector of the institution, Dr Taiwo Lasisi enjoys the support of members of staff

“To Whom It May Concern ”

Members of staff and the general public are hereby informed of the plan by some unprogressive elements of the Polytechnic Ibadan staff unions ; ASUP, SSANIP and NASU to disrupt the activities of the institution on Monday 25th March,2024 as a result of the Appointment of the Acting Rector by the Executive Governor of Oyo State,Engr. Dr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde.

Governor who is the VISITOR to the Polytechnic Ibadan has every right within his power as the owner of institution to appoint whoever is in the interest of the government to any positions.
Unions within it’s capacity has the right to advise the government but not to dictate to the government on who to be appointed, especially on the Appointment of the Principal Officer’s of tertiary institution.

Appointment involves politics and union should stay clear from it,in order to avoid issues.
The three unions should not allow people with some motives to politicize or push them against the government who is the owner of the Polytechnic Ibadan, though their name would be made available to the government very soon because we would not allow them to toy with the peace we are enjoying on campus.

These few elements of these unions are hereby cautioned to desist from it’s planned action and allow members of Staff to face their work and allow normal activities to run.

While,we want the government to deploy security personnel to the Polytechnic Ibadan to forestall any occurrences .

Members of staff were in support of Dr Taiwo Lasisi’s appointment and would give him required support.

CONCERNED MEMBERS OF STAFF.
