Former senate leader, Senator Teslim Folarin has extended his condolences to the bereaved families of Ibadan funfair tragic incident.
The message reads:
I am deeply saddened after hearing of a tragic incident at a funfair in Ibadan, the state capital of Oyo State, on Wednesday, resulting in the loss of numerous lives and injuries to many others.
My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of the victims, and I offer my sincerest condolences during this incredibly difficult time. I also wish a speedy recovery to those injured.
May the affected families find strength and comfort during this tragic time.
The unfortunate incident has caused widespread shock, grief, and concern. I commend Oyo State Government for working closely with the relevant authorities in investigating the cause of the incident and for providing support to those affected.
However, for any public gathering (big or small) safety of attendees must be put first in plannings. I urge Oyo State Government and the security agencies to come up with guidelines and conditions that must be met by organisers of similar events in order to forestall future reoccurrences.
Once again, I offer my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.
