Governor Seyi Makinde-led PDP government has sunk to a new low by ordering Mukaila Auxiliary-led park managers to attack all constituency projects facilitated by Senator Teslim Folarin of Oyo Central Senatorial District.
Eyewitnesses told The News Carrier NG how fully-armed park managers were seeing pulling down billboards showcasing ICT Centres in Oyo West and Afijio LGAs, facilitated by the three-term lawmaker.
A hawker, Mr. Oladayo Fasasi who witnessed the incident said, “At around 5pm on Monday, about 15 young men wearing Oluomo Loga customised shirt came to pull down ICT billboard erected at the gate of Ladigbolu Grammar School, Oyo. Nobody could challenge them as they were heavily armed with dangerous weapons. The reason for destroying the billboard was best known to them”.
Similar incident was reported at Ilora Grammar School in Afijio LGA. The News Carrier NG learnt that same unidentified park managers destroyed ICT billboard erected at the gate of the school.
When contacted to react to the development, Alhaji Emiola Wasiu who is the Public Relations Officer for the Oyo State Park Management System denied the allegation.
“It is ridiculous to say that park managers were involved in the destruction. The police should investigate the incident and bring culprits to book” Emiola said.
In his reaction, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Senator Folarin, Com. YSO Olaniyi condemned the vandalisation.
The media aide noted that the matter will be reported to the Nigeria Police for further investigation with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book.
