The ancient town of Iseyin was agog today as prominent personalities graced the official commissioning of historic Islamic Centre by the President-General of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Dr. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.
Ayisat Aweni Raji Memorial Islamic Centre, Iseyin was established and built by Nigerian legal luminary, Barrister Ahmed Raji, SAN.
Some of the prominent personalities who graced the historic event included incumbent deputy governor of Oyo State, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan; former governor of Oyo State, High Chief Rasheed Ladoja; Senator Teslim Folarin (Oyo Central), Senator Abdulfatai Buhari (Oyo North), former secretary to Oyo State Government, Barr. Sharafadeen Alli, former commissioner for environment, Barrister Lowo Obisesan among others.
Also in attendance were top-class monarchs, which included His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Lamidi Adeyemi III (Alaafin of Oyo); the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba (Dr.) Abdulganiyy Ologunebi and others.
