The Omodewu family has assured leaders and teeming members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State that the progressive family is in safe hands with Hon. Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu as State Chairman of the party.
The message of assurance is contained in an open letter of appreciation to members of Oyo State APC on the emergence of former commissioner as the new state chairman of the party.
In a letter signed by Chief Mrs Janet Aiyeku (Nee Omodewu) and Engr. Ayo Oyedokun, the family described Hon. Omodewu as a core progressive with deep knowledge of progressive politics and requireed leadership skills.
The letter read in parts:
“We warmly congratulate our son – Hon. Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu who enjoys the legitimate mandate of Oyo APC delegates in recognition of his honesty, integrity and track records of success as honourable commissioner for Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development as well as Ministry of Lands, Housing and Survey. Also, we congratulate all other 35 new state executives of the party who were elected alongside with our son on the October 30th 2021 state congress of the party. Hon. Omodewu’s emergence is of enormous importance for the future of the progressive family and the future of Oyo State”.
“The party leaders and delegates have made best decision by putting forward one of their best materials – Hon. Omodewu to lead Oyo State APC to victories in future elections. It’s noteworthy that Hon. Omodewu started learning rudiment of progressive politics from our late patriarch – Pa Emmanuel Oyetunji Omodewu, starting from 1979. Pa Omodewu was a notable disciple of late sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief Bola Ige of blessed memories. Pa Omodewu was not only a progressive leader in Oke-Ogun but also contributed to the emergence of Alhaji Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina (Great Lam) as executive governor of Oyo State in 1999. With over 42years political and leadership experiences of young Omodewu, we are guaranteeing that Oyo APC is in capable and safe hands”
“However, disagreements are normal in all political parties and APC is no exception. On this note, we are urging Mr. Chairman to commence the process of reconciliation among leaders and members of the party. Hon. Omodewu has always been a goal getter, therefore we don’t doubt his leadership acumen to ensure genuine reconciliation of some aggrieved members”.
“We look forward to a robust, responsible and purposeful collaborations of new ward, local and state executives of the party with a view to building a formidable and unbeatable Oyo APC” the statement concluded.
