Sen. Sharafadeen Alli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District has called on Nigerians to tolerate one another and pray fervently for national unity and even development of all the component parts of the country as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
The lawmaker made the call in a statement he issued on Tuesday in Ibadan, Oyo State capital to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The senator urged Nigerians to
imbibe the spirit of godliness, charity, perseverance and spiritual intercession for the nation.
He urged the people to have faith in the new leadership of the country under President Bola Tinubu, saying the government has started on a good note.
Senator Alli said that the growth and development of the country was a collective responsibility of all, urging them to brace up for the challenges inherent in placing the country on the prosperous path.
“Muslim faithful and adherents of other faiths should always demonstrate love and understanding towards one another in the quest for a greater and more prosperous Nigeria.
“The present APC administration led by our leader, President Bola Tinubu is poised at taking the nation to greater heights. We must do all to ensure the nation attain desired greatness,” he said.
The lawmaker described the eid-el-kabir as one that honours the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son to show submission to Allah’s command.
Senator Alli therefore urged them to continue to exhibit love towards their fellow human beings and dedicate themselves to service of humanity as exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim.
“Eid-el-Kabir is a period to honour the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son to show submission to Allah’s command.
“I implore all to exhibit love towards their fellow human beings and dedicate themselves to service of humanity as exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim,”he said.
The lawmaker reassured constituents of his commitment to quality representation and ensure that the district was put on sound footing that would be the envy of all.
He wished the people of Oyo South and all Nigerians, especially Muslims a happy sallah celebration, urging them to pray fervently for peace, progress and economic emancipation of the country.
