There is palpable tension in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital as a group of hoodlums struck at Atolu area in Ona-Ara Local Government on Sunday evening.

Eyewitnesses confirmed to the News Carrier NG that the hoodlums were seeing using axes, cutlasses and guns during the attack.

Though details of the cause of attack are still scanty as at the time of filing this report, this newspaper can authoritatively report that many vehicles were vandalised during the pandemonium.

GUNMEN KILL 3, ABDUCT A MEDICAL DOCTOR IN IBARAPA

In another latest development, three people have been gruesomely murdered in Idere town of Ibarapa Central local government area by gunmen who launched an attack on Subawah Oil Filling Station.

Sources confirmed to the News Carrier NG that two 9years old cousins were killed while a mother to one the dead kids was hit by stray bullets.

The gunmen kidnapped Mrs. Sherifat Adisa who was the Chief Executive Officer of the filling station. She was later found dead in a forest on Sunday.

The Chief Executive Officer of the filling station, Mrs. Sherifat Adisa, who was allegedly abducted and whisked away to an unknown destination, was later found dead on Sunday.

Confirming the incidents, the Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Fadeyi Olugbenga, said that some suspects have been arrested through collaborative efforts of the Police and other local security. He said investigation has commenced and the outcome will be made public in due time.

The police spokesman further stated that intensive manhunt is still ongoing around the area to arrest other fleeing suspects. He assured the residents that Oyo State Police Command is ensuring massive deployment of its officers to restore confidence to the community in particular and the whole Ibarapa axis in general.

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu while reiterating his commitment to rejig the security architecture of the Ibarapa zone, also confirmed kidnapping of Dr. Akindele at his hospital in Tapa village, Ibarapa North LG on January 2.
