In a bid to stop litigation against the May 22 local government elections in Oyo State, the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has allegedly deploy thugs to unleash terror on lawyers of the main opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Eyewitnesses told the News Carrier NG that some chieftains of Oyo APC and lawyers engaged by the opposition party to stop the elections were brutally attacked by the men of the underworld.

Oyo APC alleged that Governor Seyi Makinde and the leadership of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) were out to waste the state’s scarce resources and also make a mockery of democracy and the rule of law with their plans to go ahead with the conduct of the local government election slated for Saturday, May 22, without the APC and other registered political parties.
