Governor Makinde, if your aides are telling you that your popularity is intact, they are your enemies. They are deceiving you. The sterling opinions the people of Oyo State hold about you have changed. You have shown yourself to be incapable and incompetent to govern a complex State like Oyo.
Also, you can never get it right, as long as you hold the political establishment and traditional institution of the State in contempt. Good governance goes beyond having 48 billion naira in bank account. Damn it! It’s more than money.
Five governors came to your State, you never deemed it fit to consult stakeholders in the State on ways to receive them. Who are those advising you that you are doing well. For your information, Oyo State is upside down.
The Alaafin of Oyo, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Soun of Ogbomoso and other prominent traditional figures are your enemies. Chiefs Ladoja, Adeojo, Akala, Folarin, Koleoso, Arapaja, Lekan Balogun and other prominent political leaders are your enemies.
Did you carry the Alaafin and Olubadan along in solving the crisis of Shasha? No. You think you are ridiculing them? No, you are ridiculing yourself. Olubadan of Ibadanland is the traditional head of the entire Ibadan. What stopped you from taking those Governors to Olubadan for visitation and consultation?
