Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Monday told aspirants vying for the ticket of Oyo South senatorial district that each of the aspirant would spend a sum of N100 million on delegates if the aspirants decided to go for party primary.

Makinde stated this while hosting Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Stakeholders at Government House, Agodi, Ibadan.

According to Mr. Gov, “Oyo South has close to one thousand delegates, if you decided to go for primary, you will spend not less than N100,000 on one delegate. If you multiplied N100,000 by one thousand delegates, you will be spending one hundred million naira on primary election alone.”

However, the Governor asked the two aspirants, Senator Kola Balogun and Dr Nureni Adeniran to send one representative each to meet with a former minister, Elder Wole Oyelese, PDP BoT member, Alhaja Mutiat Ladoja and PDP Southwest Women leader, Alhaja Bose Adedibu with the view to reaching a consensus.

Makinde was reported to have said if the consensus arrangement failed, the two aspirants should go for primary to produce the party’s candidate for Oyo South senatorial district.
