The death of His Imperial Majesty Oba Senator (Dr.) Mohood Olalekan Balogun Okunmade II (The Olubadan of Ibadanland). is a colossal loss to Ibadanland and Yorubaland.
I commiserate with Ali Okunmade royal family, the Olubadan-in-Council, the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State Government over the passage of our Kabiyesi.
He was a highly resourceful and respected monarch with rich resume. He had successful careers in academic, politics and business world. His reign was peaceful.
Oba Ali Okunmade II was a great father, royal father and political leader. I succeeded him as Oyo Central Senator in 2003. He contributed positively to my political career. I’ll miss his wise counsel.
Baba lived an impactful life and his place is assured in history.
May Almighty Allah Give us the fortitude to bear the great loss and Grant Kabiyesi Al-Janatul Firdaus.
Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, OFR
Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadanland
