Oyo Education Commissioner Meets New LAUTECH Alumni Excos, Assures of Gov Makinde’s Commitment to Institution

The executives of Oyo State Chapter of LAUTECH Alumni Association led by Mr. Folaranmi Awosika were at the office of the Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye on a courtesy visit on Thursday 25th March, 2021 during which salient issues on LAUTECH and  LAUTECH Alumni were discussed.

The honourable commissioner reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the development of LAUTECH, hinting that the LAUTECH Governing Council will be constituted, a move which will expedite and accelerate the expected development of the school.

He stated that Governor Seyi Makinde is very much in love with the school and he is poised at ensuring that the Ivory  Tower is restored back to her lost glory during his tenure.

Barr. Olasunkanmi also assured that employing or appointing LAUTECH Alumni into government positions in the state will not be a problem since there are many LAUTECH graduates all over the world that are doing very well in their chosen careers.

Earlier, the chairman, Mr. Folaranmi Awosika thanked the Education Commissioner for the effort of the Oyo state government on the amicable resolution of the LAUTECH ownership tussle, he canvassed for the inclusion of LAUTECH Alumni in employment and governance in Oyo state. The General secretary, Dr. Isaac Oyewo, enjoined the government to step up the good work already started to ensure that the school moves to her number one rating among state university in quick time.

A gift of a LAUTECH Alumni diary sent by the LAUTECH ALUMNI Global President Hon. Onilede Solomon was presented to the Honourable Commissioner.

Present at the meeting alongside the Chairman and the General Secretary are the Auditor, Mr. Bolanle Moses, the Social Director, Mr. Alimi Akeem and two congress members, Mr. Afolabi  Ayomide and Engr. Samuel Akinade.

The visit was very fruitful as the honourable Commissioner promised to be a partner in progress with the state chapter of the Alumni.
