A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Chief Niyi Akintola SAN has stated that bank accounts of Oyo State government will be garnished if Governor Seyi Makinde refuses to comply with the Supreme Court ruling on the illegal sacking of elected council officials of the opposition party.

The legal icon made the statement on Saturday, while featuring on a radio programme (Ijoba-Ibile) on Splash 105.5 FM, anchored by Abiodun Adewole monitored by Double A Exclusive Media.

Recall that the Supreme Court has ordered Oyo state government to payoff all the dissolved LG, LCDA chairmen and Councillors in the judgement delivered on the 7th of May, 2021.

Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye while also featuring on the same programme has earlier confirmed the payment of 20million litigation fine by the state government remaining the salaries and allowances of all the applicants.

According to Akintola, “If the state government refused to comply with the supreme court’s judgement and file an affidavit of compliance, Oyo state government’s account will be garnished”

Although, the Oyo state CSDA chairman, Hon. Eesuola Amidu Babatunde who was also part of the programme however disagree with Niyi Akintola and Aleshinloye on their position; saying the applicants has to go back to court for clarification to determine who to be paid.
