The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Ogbomoso South Local government chapter has replied the majority leader, Oyo State House of Assembly, Sanjo Adedoyin on reasons why Constituents and members of the party denied him entry into the party meeting venue on Tuesday.

In a press statement signed and made available to newsmen by the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ogbomoso South, Femi Adeniyi, he said the reason why the lawmaker was denied access to the meeting venue was because he completely abandoned the people that sent him to Ibadan.

He said “For more than three years, he went missing, only for him to show up this weekend to say he wants to attend the party local meeting for the first time since he was elected.

“The people they knew his intentions. Because the primaries is three months ahead, he want to cajole them again, that’s why those he abandoned turned against him and showed their anger.”

“Also, recalling past events, he came exactly a year he attacked members of the party by sponsoring touts who shot six members of the party during the March 8 Chairmanship Primary.

“As a political party we’ve tried all possible means to curb him from engaging in anti party activities in the past but he turned deaf hears, so he should not drag the name of our respected leader, Otunba Segun Oguwuyi into the mud. As someone whom the people laboured for day and night before he emerged in 2019, let him show the world his achievements in the last three years.

” On his alleged support for our Governor, which he said he staged the meeting to demonstrate his support for Governor Seyi Makinde, you don’t support the government or Governor by rolling out drums, you work for the governor and party if truly you are supporting him. let him show the world what he has done to support the Governor, someone who abstained himself from all declarations made by leaders and members of the party in Ogbomoso South and Zone as a whole to ensure His Excellency return in 2023.

“Ogbomoso South has seen the light; gone are the days when you turn what is meant for the people to yourself. So if someone who did not perform reaped his consequences, what’s the fault of our leader, Otunba Oguwuyi.

“There have been others before him, who has set the standard but he thought he can buy the masses with money.

“Sanjo Adedoyin has failed and he has been rejected. He came pleading to we members of the Local executives but we told him he did not offend us, he should find a means to present his plea to those he shot at last year. If he knew he did the right thing why was he begging us to allow him attend the party meeting. left to us he has ceased to be a member of the party, because he has never attended the party meeting both at the local government and ward level, and the constitution of the party says for you to be a member of the party you must attend the party meetings and pay your financial dues.

” It should be on note that he is not the first person who will switch side from the aggrieved camp or other political parties, but the people veted their anger on him because of his actions.

“However the party is sounding him and his cohorts warning to never drag into mud the name of our respected party leaders as such actions can push the party to take legal actions against him.

Meanwhile, majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Sanjo Adedoyin, said politicians who misconstrued his intention behind calling the meeting sent political thugs to attack him.

He said he staged the meeting to demonstrate his support for Governor Seyi Makinde but that his political opponents felt he organized the meeting to state that the governor had promised him a second term ticket to the state House of Assembly.

Especially, he fingered the Chief of Staff to the Oyo Governor, Honourable Segun Ogunwuyi as instigating political thugs against him because he is being seen as a threat in assuming position as leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbomoso.

He said these while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune on Wednesday.

He added the attack could also be termed retaliatory because he was alleged to have unleashed terror on members and delegates of the PDP during the local government Chairmanship primaries.

Adedoyin, however, said he had reported the matter to the leadership of the party in the state for necessary action.

On allegation that he locked the party office, Adedoyin said the party office was locked because the party did not pay the necessary due.

Adeodyin said: “I went for our local meeting and some people stage-managed thugs to attack me.

“They threw stones and it hit my forehead. Some of my guys were stoned and injured. My wife was not injured.

“I mobilized people to the meeting to demonstrate that I am for the governor but they thought I organized the meeting because the governor had promised us second term ticket.

“The party is polarized along the lines of the governor and that of Mulikat Akande-Adeola but this clash is never between the Mulikat side and governor’s side. It is between my side and that of Segun Ogunwuyi.

“We should be on the same page but I do not know why they choose to do such a thing. I do not know why anybody should see me as a threat.

“I know some of those people intend to come out for Assembly but they know nobody can face me with the structure I have on the ground.

“They also alleged that I attacked them during primaries for chairmanship and during the emergence of Caretaker Chairman and that this was revenge.

“They also alleged that I locked the party’s office. The party is sponsored at the local level by the Chairman. I used to pay from 2018-2022 when we had no Chairman that I used to pay the rent.

“It was locked because the party failed to pay the necessary due.

“However, it is an internal affair. I have taken necessary action and the party is on top of the situation.”
