As part of his collaborative efforts to stem the tide of crimes in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin (Oyo Central) has supported Vigilante Group of Nigeria with motorcycles and cash donations.
Speaking during the handing over in Oyo town on Monday, Senator Folarin said the procurement of two motorcycles and cash donation to vigilante group in Oyo Federal Constituency was in sync with his pledge to collaborate with relevant security agencies in tackling security menace and farmer-herder clashes in the state.
The three-term senator, who was represented by his private secretary – Mogaji Afolabi Adesina and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo Federal Constituency – Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite, said the motorcycles were meant to scale up surveillance on Oyo-Iseyin Road.
“We are here at the instance of Senator Teslim Folarin to present two motorcycles and cash donations to VGN corps to enhance their operations towards securing lives and property of Oyo residents. This kind of support will also be extended to Ogbomoso and Ibadan zones of Oyo Central Senatorial District and even beyond”.
Senator Folarin while emphasising that security is key to meaningful development, reiterated his commitment to supporting efforts and ideas geared towards making Oyo State a crime-free state.
The VGN representative, Mr. Sulaiman Àta commended Senator Folarin for his donations and qualitative representation of the district.
In another development, the Oyo Central lawmaker cleared medical bills of four indigent constituents, and also empowered some women in Oyo zone with grinding machines.
