The acting Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, members of Alumni Association of the prestigious academic institution, Federal and State Lawmakers, Ibadan Chiefs and others have felicitated Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin on his conferment as Distinguished Alumnus and commissioning of MacArthur ICT and Communications Centre. 
In his felicitation message, the acting vice chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Ekanola congratulated Folarin on prestigious award the institution’s Alumni Association conferred on him on Friday, 10th September 2021.

Prof. Ekanola, in his address at the official commissioning of the ICT Centre, stated that Senator Folarin came to our aid, at a critical time, that University of Ibadan is so much in need of ICT Centers in strategic locations on the campus.

“We acknowledged the MacArthur ICT workshop that that Senator Folarin facilitated for the selected staffs of bursary and audit departments of the institution. Just last week, non-academic staff had their training in the facility. Where would the staff have done their training, If Senator Folarin had not donated this edifice to us. Thank you, thank you” said the acting Vice-Chancellor.

Prof. Ekanola and the Worldwide President of University of Ibadan Alumni Association, Professor Elsie Adewoye lauded the Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content for identifying with the academic institution and his resolve to facilitate many projects to his Alma Mater.
In the same vein, a member of the House of Representatives, Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. Akin Alabi cheered and celebrated Senator Folarin on his award as Distinguished Alumnus of University of Ibadan.
Alabi said, “it is one thing to be a leader, it is another to be a father. Thanks for being both, and inspiring us all to achieve more. We are proud of your purposeful leadership and qualitative representation of the people of Oyo Central Senatorial District and Oyo State at large”.
Another member of the federal house of representatives, Prince Olaide Akinremi said that Folarin deserved the honour, having proved himself as truly distinguished senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Serving minority leader and former Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Alarape while felicitating the Oyo Central senator stated that distinguished alumnus award is not for those who only enjoy their dreams in sleeping, but for those who cannot sleep to fulfill their dreams”.
Hon. Isiaka Kazeem representing Oyo East/Oyo West State Constituency described Oloye Folarin as a leader worth following, saying that he is proud of Folarin’s countless achievements and humbled to be associated with him.
Some Ibadan senior chiefs, which include Chief Lowo Obisesan (Aare Ago Balogun Olubadan), Chief Adegboyega Adegoke (Ajia Balogun Olubadan), Mogaji Adebayo Abiodun as well as Prince Suleiman Ajibade also celebrated Senator Folarin who is also Ayingun Olubadan.
Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State led by the acting State Secretary, Hon. Mojeed Olaoya also lauded Senator Folarin on his achievements.

The executives and members of Federation of Ibadan Students Union (FIBSU), University of Ibadan also congratulated the three-term senator on his prestigious award.

In a goodwill message signed by the Association’s president, Aare Popoola Zainab; General Secretary, Com. Olayiwola Sodiq and Public Relations Officer, Com. Aanuoluwapo Adepoju, FIBSU described Senator Folarin as a classic leader whose achievements are source of inspiration to younger generation.
