APC Ibadan Southwest Chairman-elect, Omoniyi Pledges To Run All-inclusive Party Affairs. *To Visit Florence Ajimobi, Others
In fulfilment of his electioneering campaign promise to foster a cohesive and an all-inclusive party devoid of divisive tendencies, the newly elected chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Ibadan south west local government, Arch. Joseph Omoniyi has kick-started a series of activities ahead of the formal swearing in of all new local government executives of the party scheduled for next week.
Addressing journalists at a press briefing in his ward 12, Odo Ana Apata area of Ibadan South West LGA of Oyo state, Arch. Omoniyi expressed his profound gratitude to the entire membership of APC in Ibadan Southwest LGA for the confidence reposed in him in nominating him and eventually voting in him as the chairman of the APC in the local government.
“I must first and foremost express my sincere appreciation to the entire membership of our great party all over the country for turning out en-mass for the just concluded local government congress, a process out of which I emerged as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Ibadan south west local government chapter.
“This victory is declared a no victor not vanquished win. It is a victory for all, most especially at this critical time when the opposition party were waiting for us to fail, but we have been able to disappoint them”
“They are yet to recover from the shock of our various successes in our great party. I dedicate this victory to the entire membership of APC in Ibadan southwest LGA and most especially my co-contestants.”
“This victory will further propel me and spur me into greater determination to deliver on the mandate given to me with the full support of the entire leadership of the party at both the state and local government levels.”
According to him, four years is a very short time, hence we cannot afford to take chances with the task ahead.
“Prior to our swearing in, I have streamlined a schedule of activities to set the ball of our tenure rolling. I shall be embarking on a thank you tour and our first port of call will be to the house of our leader, the former Governor of Oyo state, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi who was and still remains the number one leader of this local government even in death”.
“Our mother, Chief (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi has held the forth so righteously and her support for my emergence as chairman is unquantifiable”
“We shall also embark on a thank you visit to all the 12 Wards of the council area to appreciate their support..Don’t forget that 13 of us contested for this election, I was only privileged to have emerged winner.”
“We will reach out to all the 12 of my colleagues and bring them on board to ensure we are all on the same page. We will have an executive round table to discuss and exchange ideas”
“Their contribution towards the growth of our party in Ibadan south west local government can never be wished away as we will be meeting periodically to review activities with them as we are colleagues in progress”.
“The final activity we will have that will preceed our swearing in ceremony shall be a grand all inclusive road show of all members of Ibadan south west local government where we will move round the major areas of our local government which will terminate at Baptist primary school, liberty road, Oke ado Ibadan for a grand rally and a victory party to entertain all members which will be tagged unification rally/party and we shall do every possible to bring in members of the state caretaker committee of the party and the members of the Elders Advisory Council as Special guest of honour at the rally”.
