An Ibadan born boxer, Ayanfe Adeoye has knocked out his opponent, Ola Adebakin in round one out of six rounds national light weight category on Saturday at Teslim Balogun stadium .

The fight dubbed “The Return Of The Titans” was the second professional bout of Adeoye popularly know as “Battleboy” in the category.

It could be recalled that Battleboy  won his first international professional fight against Ghanaian boxer, Emmanuel Allotey in far away Ghana on May 1st, 2021.

He won by rounds 5 knockout in a six rounds bout that came up at Lebanon house Accra, Ghana.

The Lagos fight which started around 6:00pm, saw the referee stopping the fight 2 minutes of the beginning of the fight in first round out of the six rounds bout when Adebakin could no longer fit to move his hands in defence.

While speaking with the Journalists after the victory, Adeoye Battleboy, a young talented boxer who clocked 21 on June this year puts on T-shirt with inscription “Stop Domestic Violence” said, he was able to perform better than Ghana bout here in Nigeria as a result of hard working through training and dedication, which also won him the Ghana fight.

He said he puts on the T-shirt basically to have a voice of support for the women because they are most violated domestically.

According to him, “First and foremost after dedicating this victory to God Almighty, Who always making things possible, Who have been making my victory possible, I also dedicated the victory to womanhood. That’s why I put on this T-shirt with inscription ‘Stop Domestic Violence’.

“Basically, I just wanted to be a voice for the women. I feel they get violated domestically the most. No sane man should ever touch a woman, so am using this victory to appeal to men out there to stop domestic violence against women folks.

“And I will continue to say this, that my ambition is to make boxing a number one sport in Nigeria. I want to be a great example to the younger ones that you can still be a boxer and be a decent, reliable and responsible person. It’s a sport and not for ‘thugs’ as some people perceive it. And most importantly, I want to make boxing great in Nigeria like other greatest Nigerian born boxer.

“I am looking up to the likes of the greatest Muhammed Alli, Lennox Lewis and Sugar Ray Leonard and my brother and a role model, ‘The Champ’ Anthony Joshua”.
