Mother of Rahmon Azeez, who was killed by hoodlums at Iwo Road on Wednesday, Alhaja Salmot Azeez, has called on Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and the police in the state to make sure that her son’s killers are brought to justice.

Alhaja Azeez made the call while speaking with journalists at her residence Friday evening.

She said her slain son, who was a graduate of the Lead City University, Ibadan, was never a cultists but was killed by thugs led by an appointee of Gov Makinde.

The grieving mother accused Lamidi Mukaila, popularly known as Auxiliary, of leading hoodlums who killed her son and destroyed shops in the shopping complex.

The woman, who is the owner of the shopping complex, said she used to give Auxiliary anything he asked from her and wondered why her son was the target of the attack.

She said she allowed drivers to use part of the entrance to the complex despite that their activities usually obstructed movement into the shops.

She said, “Former Commisioner of Police, Adisa Bolanta intervened and resolved it that we should allow them to use part of the entrance and I allowed them.

” Even our DPO at that time, Ilori took photograph of the way the commercial drivers were disturbing us to the commisioner of police and the matter was resolved.

“But this is the way they paid me back, by killing my son. The one they killed was a graduate of the Lead City University. My first born they attempted to kill studied in London but he decided to return to Nigeria because he said he could not do the kind of jobs they’re doing there.

“He had a shop where he was selling phones in the shopping complex. He was never a cultist. He was a phone dealer. I don’t know how I offended Auxiliary that made him killed my son. I don’t know what I did to him. He knows me and I usually give him something. I give him whatever he asked me. This is a great loss.”

Similarly, the elder brother of the deceased, called on the police to prosecute the killers of his brother.

Ahmed said he was the target of those who attacked and killed his brother.

He said, “I was the one they were after. If they were able to lay their hands on me that day, I wouldn’t have been here today. I don’t know why the man is still on the street now. By now, he should be in police custody.”

However, the allegation has been debunked by the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Park Management System, Alhaji Emiola Wasiu.

In a phone conversation with the News Carrier NG, Alhaji Emiola admitted that his principal, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi Auxiliary knows the family of late Rahmon Azeez but he (Auxiliary) did not kill Rahmon.

“My principal was at Iwo Road to douse tensions after receiving distress calls. He did not participate in the killing, maiming and looting” Emiola said.

Calls to Governor Seyi Makinde and his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa were not answered. The News Carrier NG reached out to the duo to get their own side of the story.
