A chairmanship aspirant in the September 4 local government congress of the Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Arch. Joseph Omoniyi has expressed confidence of winning the poll.
Omoniyi disclosed this to the News Carrier NG on Friday. According to him, “the election is going to be free, fair and credibile, 13 of us are vieing for that office and we have all decided to go for election, we all do not subscribe to consensus option.
“We, the 13 aspirants will all be at the Congress venue tommorow and from all indications, I am positioned for victory. My antecedents as a committed party man is one of my selling points. The support I have recieved from all levels of stakeholders of the party is unprecedented.
“We have taken our campaigns to the nook’s and crannies of the 12 wards in the local government. We have spoken to woman on the street. The youth of the local government are ready for a new dawn in the history of Progressive politics in Ibadan south west local Government.”
“I can tell you categorically that by the time I and my new executives are sworn in as local government executives of the party in Ibadan South West, it shall be the beginning of a new dawn.”
“Part of our manifesto is to ensure an all encompassing, broad based party politics. The opposition party should brace up for the challenges ahead of them, we will give them a run for their money.”
“Ibadan South West has always be a centre of attraction in Oyo state Politics, we have the highest number of votes in Oyo state, we are a strategic local government, we determine the Political calculation in Oyo state. That is how important we are.”
“This time around, practical politics will come to play. The array and calibre of political juggernauts we parade and the ones we intend to bring in from opposition PDP who are already waiting to defect will throw the PDP off balance.
