Following the eventual transfer of Ladoke Akinola University of Technology – Ogbomoso to Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration is perfecting legal framework for the full take-off of the Ivory  Tower.

Oyo State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Barr. Oyelowo Oyewo, made this disclosure while briefing journalists in the Governor’s Office on Wednesday.

According to Barr Oyewo, the new template to be adopted for LAUTECH operation is a multi-campus system, which is expected to allow other regions of the state access to tertiary education. He noted that the administrative headquarters of the tertiary institution will remain in Ogbomoso.

He stated further  that the new legal framework for the institution has been captured in a proposed bill titled “Oyo State LAUTECH Bill, 2020″, which is ready for onward transmission to the state house of assembly for consideration and approval on or before Friday 18th Dec. 2020.

Recall, the age-long tussle for the sole ownership of LAUTECH was finally resolved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on 20th November, 2020, after Oyo and Osun governments mutually agreed to end the institution’s joint ownership.
