The councillors elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ido local government area of Oyo State allegedly assaulted the Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs. Aremu.
The News Carrier NG reliably gathered that the incident occurred few days before the theatre of violence at Mapo Hall, headquarters of Ibadan Southeast LGA and Agodi Council Secretariat, the headquarters of Ibadan North LGA.
According to eyewitnesses accounts, the HLA, Mrs. Aremu was manhandled by the hungry councillors.
“After harassing and manhandling the HLA, the council legislators deflated tyres of her car. They also damaged some properties in her officer” a source said.
Another source who does not want his name in print, disclosed that the Executive Chairman of Ido LGA, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo sent the councillors to attack the HLA.
“The councillors assaulted the woman because they need money to survive. All the elected council officials are suffering under this administration of Governor Seyi Makinde. They restored to self-help” he said.
