Armed thugs on Thursday invaded legislative chamber of Ibadan Southeast Local Government Area of Oyo State, beating at least three councillors to coma.
One of the victims of the deadly invasion told the News Carrier NG correspondent that the Executive Chairman of the Council area, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawoode sent thugs to assault the councillors and also disrupted their plenary session holding at Mapo Hall. The armed thugs were led by one Abija.
The News Carrier NG reliably gathered Hon. Alawoode had asked the councillors not to proceed on today’s plenary session but the lawmakers went ahead with their legislative duties.
Calls and messages sent to the council chairman’s phone number were not responded to as at the time of filling this report.
