The Federal Commissioner for Public Complaints Commission, Oyo state, Asiwaju Folawiyo Bello, expresses his heartfelt condolences to the good people of Igangan land of Ibarapa area and particularly the families of those who lost their lives in the recent and unfortunate encounter of the Customs operatives and supposed smugglers as widely reported.

This is contained in a statement the federal commissioner released to journalists in Ibadan on Monday.

According to Hon. Folawiyo, “the increasing incidents of chaos occasioned by the attempt of Customs operatives in carrying out their statutory functions have brought untold jeopardy to the safety of lives and properties , especially thinking of the needless deaths and destruction of properties; thereby worsening the already tensed security environment”

He implored the authorities of the Nigerian Customs to ensure that their conduct, conforms with the extant rules , as they are also expected to carry out their affairs in line with globally acceptable practices.

“While it is hoped that the government arm which has oversight on the Customs institutes an inquiry into the immediate and remote causes of these incidents, the Honourable commissioner implores the good people of Igangan to continue to be law abiding in their conducts and respect for the rule of law” the federal commissioner stressed
